Purpose of These Articles

The articles contained within this section are prepared to assist in careful and reverent Bible study. They cover broader subjects than shorter topics, allowing for a more complete examination of scriptural teachings and the harmony of God’s Word. The thoughts presented are drawn from well-established Bible study themes and are expressed in a clear and simple manner so that the reader may more readily understand the divine plan and purpose.

Guided by the Word of God

It is our firm conviction that the Lord guides His people through His Word, the Bible, which is given to be a light and guide in all matters of faith and practice. As it is written, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). The Scriptures are sufficient to instruct, correct, and establish the believer in truth, for “All scripture is inspired of God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Through earnest study, the child of God is able to discern His will and grow in knowledge and grace.

The Time in Which We Live

Many students of the Bible recognize that we are living in a significant period of time often associated with the closing phase of the Gospel Age. This period is reflected in the message to the Church addressed in Laodicea, where it is written, “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write…” (Revelation 3:14). The term “angel,” meaning messenger, suggests a channel through whom truth is conveyed to the Church during this time. The message to Laodicea includes both counsel and correction, calling for renewed zeal, spiritual sight, and a return to true riches found in God’s Word (Revelation 3:15–18).

Testing All Things by Scripture

These articles are not presented as authority in themselves, but as aids to study. Each reader is encouraged to examine all teachings carefully in the light of Scripture. The Bible strongly exhorts, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). This principle ensures that faith rests not upon human interpretation, but upon the sure foundation of God’s Word. Every thought, doctrine, and conclusion should be tested by the Scriptures, which are the final standard of truth.

A Personal Responsibility

The understanding of God’s plan is a personal responsibility for each individual believer. Through prayerful study and meditation upon the Scriptures, the Lord provides guidance, wisdom, and increasing light. “Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding: in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6). These articles are therefore intended to encourage deeper study, careful reflection, and a closer walk with God through His revealed Word.

A Final Encouragement

As you read and consider these articles, may they lead not merely to knowledge, but to a deeper appreciation of God’s character, His purposes, and His plan for mankind. True understanding comes through humility, study, and obedience. Let each reader therefore approach the Scriptures with a teachable spirit, seeking always the guidance of the Lord and the illumination of His Word.
